Chelsea Flower Show

It’s that time of year again—the time when you can finally feel that glorious summertime warmth slowly creeping back into London, taking the harsh winter chill out of the air and sending fat yellow tulips bursting up from the earth alongside fresh daisies and daffodils, all heralding the start of a brand new spring. The feeling is intoxicating.

Once you’ve got past the giddy joy of putting another winter behind you, it’s time to start getting your itinerary together so you can make the most of spring 2014. As much as we all love the warm-weather routine of lounging in parks with a cold pint of cider, at Loyalzoo, we’re all about discovering new things in your area, and with London offering endless opportunities for exploration, we’ve found some downright awesome activities for you to check out this spring.

1. Henri Matisse exhibition at the Tate Modern, April 17–Sep 7

Known for his bold use of colour, Matisse is right up there alongside Picasso (who was also his rival and lifelong friend) as one of the most influential painters of the 20th Century. If you want to reinvigorate your artistic side or simply enjoy some of Matisse’s exquisite visual delights, then this exhibition is a must-do this spring.

2. RHS Chelsea Flower Show at the Royal Hospital Chelsea, May 20–24

If there’s one thing we all associate with spring, it’s flowers. The Chelsea Flower Show offers up gorgeous displays that will thrill gardening enthusiasts and regular Joes alike. What better way to get you into the spring spirit? Get your tickets as soon as you can, because tickets for this highlight of the spring calendar sell out quickly!

3. Barnyard Restaurant in the West End, March

Renowned chef Ollie Dabbous reveals his inner country boy with the launch of his new West End restaurant, Barnyard, this month. Barnyard’s down ‘n dirty menu features dishes like sausage rolls and ‘lard on toast’—but don’t let that fool you. Dabbous puts his extraordinary culinary skills into each and every dish so that you’ve got casual and affordable down-to-earth cooking with unique, mind-blowing flavours.

4. Jeff Dunham at Wembley Arena, April 26

Since spring is all about happiness (at least for us at Loyalzoo), why not work in some time for extra laughs? Jeff Dunham’s quirky and outrageous ventriloquist acts offer live comedy with a twist and will definitely have you rustling up your own sock puppets to give amateur ventriloquism a go.

And of course you will enjoy all of these even more with the awesome Loyalzoo app in your pocket – if you haven’t already done so make sure you download it today!
